Falk Levine, opened a shoe factory in middletown, NY in 1932 to broaden the line of sandals and slippers then made in the late 1920's always having the finest quality, styles, and value in the market. our extensive stock program has been the cornerstone of our business for decades. In the early 1930's we were among the first to make sandals, which was quite a departure from the usual closed shoes women wore for centuries. We have made mules since the mid 1930's when our founder decided to remove the backs from slippers. he called them mules, which is an adaptation of the French word for slippers, mulette.
